Become an Independent Contractor to take your Income to the Next Level

The cost of tuition keeps going up and up. Whether it’s a college, university, or a trade school, there doesn’t seem to be any end to rising prices in sight. If you have children who are planning to attend college, it’s definitely time to start saving or to kick your savings plan into high gear. One way to help provide for that savings is to go into business for yourself.

If you’ve worked in the construction trades, you know that the guys making the big money are the guys that call the shots. The independent contractors pull down the profits, and can almost choose their own income level by hiring additional crews and working multiple jobs at once. As long as they have a good site manager that they can trust at each location, they don’t need to be there every hour of every day.

If you already have the skills to run a independent contracting operation, then the only thing standing between you and that increased income is the contractor’s license. Although rules for becoming an independent contractor vary from state to state, there are a few basics that most, if not all states require. Insurance is one. You have to be able to cover damages to the property, injuries to your workers or others at the construction site, and other unforeseen accidents.

Another common requirement is that you prove your knowledge of the industry and your ability to run a business, by passing a state contractor’s license exam. These tests can be quite extensive in the topics they cover. In California, for example, the state contractor’s license exam covers not only basic trade skills, safety practices, and state law regarding construction projects, but a good portion of the test is reserved for basic business concepts, contract law, dispute resolution principles, accounting, and other skills needed to run the operation successfully.

That can be a lot to learn for someone who’s already working full time and trying to plan their own independent contracting company. Fortunately, there is help to learn everything you need to know to successfully pass the California state contractor’s license exam. Peerless Institute (www.PeerlessInstitute.com) offers complete training for the exam along with a series of practice tests that let you know when you’re ready to take the real exam.

We’ve already mentioned that tuitions are on the rise across the country, but of all the colleges and professional training outfits there are, have you ever heard of one that guarantees that you will pass the state exam on the first try or they’ll give you your money back? That’s exactly the promise that Peerless Institute makes to all of its students. No fine print, no disclaimers; if you finish the Peerless training program, they guarantee that you will pass the exam on your first try or they will refund your money. When you consider that nearly sixty percent of those who take the exam without following the Peerless program fail the California State Contractors’ License Exam, that’s quite a guarantee.

If you’re ready to kick you income up to the next level by starting your own independent contracting company, there’s no better place to start than Peerless Institute.

Student’s Personal Statements in Hong Kong

Hong Kong Schools Banded According to the QualityThe need to do well at school is something that is very close to the heart of Hong Kong people. Hong Kong is a very competitive place where the desire to win is a very strong motivating force for the young and old alike. This results in a very competitive education system for Hong Kong.

The competition starts at the kindergarten level. The entry into a good kindergarten can mean an increased likelihood of gaining entry into a good primary school. In Hong Kong many kindergartens have entrance exams. I recently had one of my friends explaining to me in shock that he had been called into his child’s kindergarten because his child had not been doing his homework!

Hong Kong schools are banded according to the quality of their student’s results. A band one school is a top school. A band three school is a school only attended by those who cannot perform academically well enough to get into a higher band school. The competition to get into the top schools is extremely difficult.

This is where many local Hong Kong tutorial schools play a role. A typical tutorial school catering for local students is a massive organisation which will have a class of 40+ listening to the tutor and hundreds of other students in classrooms around Hong Kong watching the lesson on closed circuit television. The value of this type of tuition is very questionable. The classes are meant to be teaching exam tips, techniques etc.

ITS Tutorial School is a very different type of tuition centre from these organisations. ITS is a fully registered school with the Hong Kong Education Department and mainly provides one to one tuition support or small classes (normally from two to a maximum of eight) to students studying a variety of different subjects and syllabuses. The tutor tailors the material to the student’s individual need and moves at the students pace.

Students find the individual attention allows them to fully develop ideas and content that they did not understand during their normal schooling. The interaction of students on a close basis with the adult tutors also helps the students gain maturity and do extension work on the areas of syllabuses covered.

ITS also can help the students in other areas as well such as helping them write their personal statements which are needed to get into top universities around the world. Many Hong Kong students attend universities in the UK, USA and Australia.

The school also helps students prepare for a variety of different exams such as the UK Common Entrance Exam 11+ and 13+, the SAT reasoning and SAT subject exams, the IELTS exam, GMAT, LNAT, SSAT and other different school and university entrance exams.

ITS also has been developing a wide variety of resources available on its website to help students, parents, teachers and the community at large achieve their academic goals.
